Water-Jet

Water Jet cutting provides more precision than flame or plasma cutting, with smaller heat affected zones compared to flame cutting or plasma cutting.

Water jet cutting works by adding abrasive (garnet) mixture to the pressurized water and forcing it through a small hole for precision metal cutting.

Benefits of Water Jet Cutting:

  • Metals sensitive to high temperature cutting stays flat.
  • Cut pieces are smooth, burr free while maintaining shape tolerances.
  • Harmful fumes or liquids are not produced.
  • Provides good versatility and can cut through a range of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, etc.)
Tolerances: Width and length dimensions
Varies, depending on edge condition
Up to 2 inch thick +/- 1/16 inch
Standard cut (clean cut, moderate bottom striations) +/- 1/32 inch
Ultra cut (smooth cut, minimal striations) +/- 1/64 inch
Tolerances vary based on part configuration, material, grade and thickness.
Capacities
Maximum width 10 foot
Maximum length 24 foot
