Water-Jet
Water Jet cutting provides more precision than flame or plasma cutting, with smaller heat affected zones compared to flame cutting or plasma cutting.
Water jet cutting works by adding abrasive (garnet) mixture to the pressurized water and forcing it through a small hole for precision metal cutting.
Benefits of Water Jet Cutting:
- Metals sensitive to high temperature cutting stays flat.
- Cut pieces are smooth, burr free while maintaining shape tolerances.
- Harmful fumes or liquids are not produced.
- Provides good versatility and can cut through a range of materials (stainless steel, aluminum, nickel, etc.)
| Tolerances: Width and length dimensions Varies, depending on edge condition |
|
| Up to 2 inch thick | +/- 1/16 inch |
| Standard cut (clean cut, moderate bottom striations) | +/- 1/32 inch |
| Ultra cut (smooth cut, minimal striations) | +/- 1/64 inch |
Tolerances vary based on part configuration, material, grade and thickness.
