Aluminum 2011 is a grade with excellent machinability. It is unexcelled for free cutting qualities, good mechanical properties. It has excellent machined surface finish capability. The T451 temper offers good deep drilling characteristics. Grade 2011 is the most widely used alloy for all types of screw machine parts. It has fair corrosion resistance and weldability.
